EC2 Instance Types

EC2 offers a variety of 32-bit and 64-bit instance types.  Be sure to choose a size that best meets your requirements.  If you are running an application on the server, you might want to use one of the Standard Instances because it has more CPU Memory.  If you require more CPU processing power than memory, use one of the High-CPU Instances.

See Amazon's EC2 Pricing for the current instance pricing structure. You can also use the Simple Monthly Calculator to estimate your usage costs.

You can select the EC2 instance type when you create a new server template.

NOTE: You must choose the correct Image (AMI) that matches the architecture of the instance type that you select.

Ex: RightImage CentOS5_0_X86_64_V2_0 is a 64-bit image.
