The following RightScale userdata is collected for each EC2 instance. 

  • RS_server - the address to use if an instance needs to contact the RightScale site
  • RS_token - the validation token to use when contacting the RightScale site
  • RS_api_url - the url to use for RightScale API calls made by the instance
  • RS_sketchy - the address to use for sending monitoring data to RightScale servers
  • RS_eip - the Elastic IP that's assigned to the instance at boot time
